The California Child Care Portfolio is a compilation of data about child care in California, county by county. Every two years since 1997, the California Child Care Resource & Referral Network has published reliable information about the amount of licensed child care and estimated demand for care in each county. The Santa Barbara Child Care Needs Assessment is published every five years by the Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council. Utilizing data from the California Child Care Portfolio, the Quality Child Care Connections of of the Children's Resource & Referral of Santa Barbara County, Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services, and various other sources, this document offers extensive data for policy makers and planners.
